Prioritizing tasks that have a clear goal is a lot easier than prioritizing self-care. Self-care is still quite elusive to me. I know I feel great when I take time to do it, but I am not consistent with it. This weekend I needed it more than some other weekend. On Sunday, It was raining all day, so I wasn’t going to go out for a walk in the evening, so I decided to take a shower at 3 PM.
Then I loved it. I was a lot calmer afterward and enjoyed a wonderful relaxing evening. Taking it just a bit earlier than usual – it could be an hour or even thirty minutes, can help us create an intentional “me” time. Taking a bath is another favorite of mine, but it requires a bit of work because I’d have to clean the tub first before I can take one, so it’s not as easy as taking a shower.
Today I just accidentally created my “me” time, but I’ll try to make more of it intentionally this week. Happy self-care!
